Wildflower Hike at Jackson-Schnyder Nature Preserve
The Ouabache Land Conservancy invites everyone to a spring wildflower hike of the Jackson-Schnyder Nature Preserve, north of West Terre Haute, on Saturday April 30th. Meet at the Preserve at 9:30 AM. The Preserve's namesake, Dr. Marion Jackson will lead hikers through the bountiful woodland wildflower specimens that include: wood poppy, wild larkspur, wild geranium, nodding trillium, prairie trillium, toadshade trillium and many others. In addition, flora species of the tallgrass prairie will be highlighted. To get to the Jackson-Schnyder Nature Preserve, take Hwy 150 to St. Mary’s Ave and turn west, drive past the St. Mary-of-the-Woods College entrance, continue west and turn left on Bloomtown Road, go under the railroad and turn right on Concannon Ave.and just past the bridge is the roadside entrance (on the right) to the Preserve.
